In a display of strength, Avranches defeated Bayonne 3-0 and took second place in National 1 Group B.
Avranches delivered a high-level performance on the Bayonne pitch. Cédric Hengbart's players imposed their rhythm from kickoff, creating numerous chances and perfectly controlling the collective play. This supremacy translated into an undeniable scoreline that reflects the gap between the two teams.
The first half was particularly controlled by the visitors. Their high press and attacking movement put the home defense under constant pressure. The Bayonne players, overwhelmed by the imposed tempo, found no solutions to contain Avranches' repeated assaults.
After the break, Hengbart's men confirmed their grip on the match. Well-organized defensively, they knew how to wait for the right moment to strike on the counter-attack. This clinical efficiency allowed them to add to the tally and seal a particularly convincing victory.
Thanks to this overwhelming win, Avranches settles into second place in National 1 Group B. This position reflects the consistency and quality of play developed by the team throughout the season. Promotion ambitions seem more relevant than ever for the club.
