The gymnast from Sarthe, now affiliated with Qatar, secured sixth place in the floor exercise final at the Combs-la-Ville tournament.
The international artistic gymnastics tournament in Combs-la-Ville hosted a landmark event for young Émeline Le Rouzic on Sunday. The twelve-year-old athlete, originally from Sarthe, competed in her first official competition under the banner of the Emirate of Qatar. This transition follows through on her personal commitment to her reference coaches, Marc and Gina Chirilcenco, who took her to Qatar last summer to prepare for her athletic evolution.
In terms of immediate performance, the gymnast asserted her standing within the top group. She managed to qualify for the floor exercise final, a technically demanding discipline requiring exemplary mastery of choreographic sequences and impact absorption upon landing. Her qualification for this final confirms her technical solidity despite the challenges associated with changing federal affiliation and entering a new international competitive context.
The outcome of the final favoured her consistency. Classified sixth among the finalists, Émeline Le Rouzic demonstrated her ability to remain among the leading young gymnasts on the circuit. This position, achieved in a competitive environment with high expectations, underscores the relevance of the physical and mental work she has been undertaking for several months. She successfully managed the pressure inherent to her debut under her new colours.
For the young athlete, this achievement in Combs-la-Ville is more than just a ranking performance. It represents a key step in her professionalization process, validating her integration into Qatar’s training programme. This sixth place on floor provides a solid foundation for the remainder of the season, where she will be expected on the other apparatus to consolidate her overall progression.
The family and technical support surrounding this young athlete remains a determining factor. Her attachment to her historic coaching structure, now based in the Gulf, ensures she receives personalized and rigorous monitoring. Observers in French and international gymnastics will view this outing in Combs-la-Ville as proof that Émeline Le Rouzic is fully operational and ready to take on the challenges of the next major events on the international calendar.
