The Thoniers suffered their first away defeat in nine matches, on Friday, against their Rouen rivals.
US Concarneau ended a streak of nine unbeaten matches by losing on the turf of Rouen, Friday, October 30. The Thoniers, who were on a solid run, fell 2-1 against a Norman side still unbeaten at home this season.
This defeat, the first away for Concarneau, comes in the context of a tight league. Rouen, second in the standings, knew how to take advantage of the slightest opportunity to make the difference, while the Bretons struggled to capitalize on their good spells. The Concarneau goal was not enough to reverse the trend.
Despite this setback, the team managed by Stéphane Le Mignan maintains a comfortable lead at the top of the group. The players will, however, need to draw lessons from this trip to approach the upcoming challenges with the same determination that has been their strength since the start of the season.
This result also reignites the race for promotion, with Rouen confirming their ambitions at home. For Concarneau, the objective remains clear: bounce back from the next match and preserve their first place. The expected reaction will need to come through better offensive efficiency and restored defensive solidity.
