Retired since 2024, Rafael Nadal will play an exhibition in Las Vegas in February 2027, according to the event organisers.
Rafael Nadal will pick up his racquet again for an exhibition scheduled in Las Vegas, Nevada, in February 2027. The announcement was made on Monday, 26 October, by the event's organisers, who have not yet detailed the full programme.
At 40 years old, the former world No. 1 ended his professional career in the autumn of 2024 after a long spell of injuries. The Majorcan, winner of twenty-two Grand Slam titles, remains one of the most iconic figures in the history of tennis, particularly on the clay courts of Roland-Garros.
An exhibition does not constitute a return to official competition. It is a match without ranking points, often organised to bring the public together around a sporting legend. Such events regularly attract interest from tournament promoters and broadcasters seeking to showcase former champions.
The city of Las Vegas, which already hosts numerous sporting events, continues its strategy of diversification. The organisers hope to attract a broad audience, including fans who do not follow traditional tennis.
For now, the precise terms of the exhibition, including Rafael Nadal's possible opponent, the exact venue and the ticketing arrangements, have not been disclosed. More information is expected to be published in the coming weeks.
