The stadiums in Guingamp, Pabu, and Plaintel will host the qualifying matches for the France U19 national team in November 2026.
The French football governing body confirmed the organization of the second round of the U19 Elite Tour in the Brittany region. This major event will take place in the Côtes-d'Armor, specifically utilizing the facilities in Guingamp, Pabu, and Plaintel. This designation allows the region to attract national attention around the young football prospects.
The competition is scheduled from November 11 to 17, 2026. It constitutes a crucial phase for players in this age category, serving as qualification for the 2027 Euro. The presence of the France U19 team will offer supporters the opportunity to discover emerging talents before their potential integration into senior teams.
During this tournament, the young French players will measure their level against three European opponents. The schedule includes matches against Greece, Ireland, and Norway. These confrontations will determine France's chances of qualification for the European Championship of the following year. Technical staff will closely monitor the athletic and tactical performances of their protégés in these international contexts.
For the host municipalities, this event represents significant visibility. Local sports infrastructure will be fully mobilized to accommodate delegations and the public. Logistics must meet federal standards to ensure the proper conduct of the matches. Reservations and the organization of supporter flow are being prepared by the relevant committees.
This stage in the Côtes-d'Armor illustrates the progressive decentralization of youth football events. It allows for the diversification of usual competition locations and involves new regions in the national effort. Players will thus benefit from a variety of pitches and match conditions, enriching their competitive experience.
