Szczepan Mazur explained that after obtaining the lead in the early stages, Raykir raced too keenly for some distance thereafter and proved difficult to settle, he said that RAYKIR came under pressure from the 600m and weakened noticeably in the straight, he added that the gelding’s racing manners had adversely affected its performance and that RAYKIR may not have been suited to the sand surface, on which it was racing for the first time. A post-race veterinary examination of Raykir revealed no apparent abnormalities.
